Superfoods!

Hey Warriors today we’re bringing you some superfood goodness, some you may have heard of before, others may be new! But they're the perfect way to make sure you stay fit and healthy, especially coming into the winter months)

 Yogurt: Yoghurt is a fantastic food for helping maintain a healthy balance in the digestive system because of the 'good' or ‘friendly' bacteria found in it. This bacteria is known as "Lactobacillus acidophilus". It has been found to help fight off infections. Some of the other great benefits of yoghurt are that is full of potassium, contains almost double the amount of calcium as a standard glass of milk and magnesium.

Broccoli: Broccoli may not be as exotic and fancy as the other super foods but this old favourite packs some serious health punch. Its full of vitamins A and C which help protect the skin from damage and overall enhance immunity. One stalk provides you daily dose of vitamin K, responsible for building strong bones, in one go so there's no reason not to love it. It has also been found to help prevent some forms of cancer. 


Wild salmon: This wild fish are a fantastic source of omega-3 fats and are a great preventer of heart attacks. They are fantastic for maintaining healthy hair, nails and skin as they contain high amounts of vitamin d. The benefit of wild salmon over farm bred is the lower concentration of mercury making them even healthier! One - 3 servings a week are a

Sweet potatoes: This fun and colourful vegetable are a great choice for those looking for more vitamin c, 
fibre and  stabilising blood sugars. Bonus they’re also relatively low in calories!

Goji berries: Another superfood from the berry family containing vast amounts of vitamin c (much more than found in oranges) and iron This super food which hails the Himalayas boasts more than 15 amino acids and has been used for medicinal purposes in many countries as a means of improving circulation, immune functioning and eyesight.

Lentils: The legumes are some of the most nutritious on the market and contain vast amounts of Vitamin b and are a great source of iron. They are a great source of iron for those non-meat eaters among us.

Blueberries: This tiny berry packs a big health punch as it has cancer fighting properties and acts as a fantastic antioxidant. It has also been proven to help with inflammation and infections.
